ROAD HAZARD PROGRAM

PURCHASABLE OPTION: 36 Month Motorsports Authority Road Hazard Service Program

This Motorsports Authority Road Hazard Service Program is administered by The Motorsports Authority, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as MSA).  This Road Hazard Program is extended only to you, the original purchaser, and is not transferable to any future owners.  This program covers only the tires listed in your original purchase invoice and must be present to file any claims.  The service program is sold on a per tire basis, where each tire will be assigned its own purchase number.

What is Road Hazard Damage? Road Hazard damage is defined as damage that occurs when a tire fails as a result of a puncture, bruise or break incurred during the course of normal driving on a maintained road. The most common are nails, glass and potholes.  Thus we offer the program purchaser (hereinafter referred to as “you”) a Road Hazard program to give you a greater peace of mind.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Tires are covered for 36 months from the date of purchase or until 2/32" or less of tread remains, whichever occurs first.
  • Repairs are reimbursed up to $25 per tire per occurrence.
  • During the first 12 months, you will be reimbursed up to 100% of the original cost of the tire covered by the Tire Road Hazard Service Program, subject to the limitations set forth in the Program Certificate. Beyond the first 12 months, the reimbursable amount is calculated by a proration of elapsed time, not to exceed 36 months.
  • The following tires are not eligible for the Tire Road Hazard Service Program:
    • Competition tires
    • LT Metric sized tires
    • LT Flotation sized tires

    • If the tire is deemed not repairable, a replacement will be ordered.  The customer is responsible for any additional costs including but not limited to a possible increased tire rate or a change in tire size or brand.
  • If you are unable to return the vehicle to our facility, go to the local tire facility to have your tire examined.
    • If the tire is deemed repairable, have the tire repaired.  Provide MSA with a signed copy of the repair.
    • If the tire is deemed not repairable, please call MSA for an authorization ad a claim reference number or your claim may be denied.  MSA will then make arrangements for you to purchase a replacement tire.
    • You must purchase the replacement tire or pay for the repair.  You will be reimbursed for the replacement or repair as outlined in this program certificate.
    • The damaged tire must be made available for inspection for a claim to be fully processed.
    • All claim documentation, including the tire(s), must be submitted within 30 days of service in order for your claim to be considered for reimbursement.

Flat Tire Repair:  If a tire covered by this Road Hazard Program is damaged due to a road hazard as defined above and can be safely repaired during the term of 36 months from the date of purchase of this Road Hazard Program, and there is more than 2/32” of tread remaining, the tire will be repaired if repairable.  The repair will be covered for up to $25.00 per tire per occurrence.  Reimbursement is strictly limited to the cost to repair your tire and may not exceed $25.00.  You are responsible for any additional charges including but not limited to mounting, balancing, taxes, and miscellaneous fees.  You do not need to purchase a new Road Hazard Program for a tire that has been repaired in order to continue under the Road Hazard Program for that tire.

Tire Replacement Terms:  If a tire covered by this Road Hazard Program cannot be safely repaired during the 36-month term due to road hazard damage as defined above, and there is more than 2/32” remaining, it will be replaced with the exact make/model of the tire if available.  If not, a comparable quality tire will be installed.  When a tire failure occurs in the first 12 months of ownership, the tire will be replaced and you will be reimbursed for the cost of the replacement tire up to the least of the original purchase price of the tire or the purchase price of the replacement tire.  When a tire fails after the first 12 months, the reimbursable amount is calculated by a proration of elapsed time, not to exceed 36 months, based on the least of the original purchase price of the tire or the purchase price of the replacement tire.  For example, if the original price of your tire was $100, and the tire was damaged due to a covered road hazard in the 18th month of ownership, you would be reimbursed for the amount of time remaining in your Road Hazard Program, in this case 50% ($50.00).  You are responsible for any additional charges including but not limited to mounting, balancing, taxes and miscellaneous fees. IF YOU DESIRE TO INCLUDE A REPLACEMENT TIRE IN THE ROAD HAZARD PROGRAM, YOU MUST PURCHASE A NEW ROAD HAZARD PROGRAM FOR THE REPLACEMENT TIRE.

Disclaimer:  You are not required to purchase this Road Hazard Program as a condition to the purchase of any product or as a condition.
